Overcoming play stirs passions about ssa

On the same day that we will be soaring like eagles at a training seminar at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, New Jersey playrights Khristi Adams and Ebonee Johnson will be featuring the second showing of "Once Upon A Dream". The play has stirred the anger (predictably) of local homosexual activists.

"The What Now?” Project as it is being called, is the second part of the play. The Forum is not performance based in nature but, it is a practical endeavor that involves community involvement on the part of the Body of Christ. The What Now forum will involve special guests all with significant experiences and expertise directly pertaining to the the subject matter. These guests, along with the cast of "Once Upon a Dream" and any invited audience participation will discuss topics such as:

  • Has the church's response to homosexuality been effective?
  • Homosexuality in the Black Church
  • Are the scriptures pertaining to homosexuality credible?
  • What action should the church/Body be taking? The “What Now?” Project Forum will take place at Crossroads Theater, Saturday, July 8, 2006, 2:30pm immediately following the 12:30 matinee.
