Nation of Crybabies

After the stunning failure of his Millions More Mess March, Louis Farrakhan is upset that black Christian preachers didn't come to his party. Particularly he lashes out at Bishop TD Jakes of Dallas for appearing with the President among other things.

Farrakhan should be thankful that the handful of black folk who showed up did. Independent Conservative has a fascinating --and undoctored-- before and after picture of 1995 and 2005.

Sensible black people know that Farrakhan by and large is nothing more than hot air, capitalizing and whipping up fear in the black community. After the 1995 "march" nothing substantial came of the grand promises and lofty idealisms Farrakhan spouted. Apparently, he thought black folk dumb enough to fall for that dog and pony show again. He is a worthy contemporary to the chief race hustlers Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and company.

Bishop Jakes and other black Christian Leaders are on Farrakhan's hit list, not because they didnt attend the march, but because they are secure enough in their own leadership abilities, therefore have no need of some self anointed "black leader". Although Farrakhan continually harps on about black unity, he cannot produce his own fruit for unity. In other words, division follows him everywhere. Secondly, unity at the expense of my faith is not unity at all. A Christian should never come under the control of a separatist Muslim fanatic who brazenly compares himself to Jesus Christ. That alone is more than enough reason for any authentic Christian to reject Farrakhan's "leadership".

More from Independent Conservative's Farra-the-con watch.

You know, I believe that there's an idea that is good behind what Farrakhan does with regards to these marches. I like him. I don't financially support him, but, I mean, if people would just recognize that people may say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing, but overall their intentions are good, then we have a reason to believe in the one thing that is common amongst us as african americans(too lazy right now to capitalize). Anyway, while the march 10 yrs. ago was not as large nor spiritually moving(by my judgement), I fully understand the point of doing the march. As a group of people we need to mobilize and make changes in our communities. As for Jakes, when was the last time, publicly w/ media coverage, that he went to the hood and ministered to the crackheads and single mothers in subsidized housing or the transvestite street walker on Ponce? More than likely, the average large-church preacher doesn't do that(but i cud b wrong). So, we can say Bush used TDJ to place a band-aid on the underlying issue of racism, but by my opinion, until the CHURCH OF CHRIST'S BODY stands up and sets itself apart, PERIOD... then be it black or white, conservative/liberal, or whatever, it's gonna be one big mess after the next and everyone will be pointing fingers. Our leaders today are far from the leadership of Paul, Barnabas, and the true martyrs for Christ.

hey do you know TD's story? You may wanna read it. The man did not wake up with mit silver spoon lodged in mouth. You being a lil hard on the preacha man. Most black preachers (megas included) are hoodified when not on TV. And Im not sure I agree with the media ops when truly ministering to the people you mentioned. If youre going to do good and help somebody, just do it.

Also, Im not so sure "marches" are useful anymore. For anybody. I agree intentions are good, but with Farrakhan, intentions are suspect at best.

Wow DL:
You have been sipping on some hateorade or something! While Mr. Farrakhan has said incindiary things in the past, I have seen him affect positive change and growth in the Black community. So many of our men out of prison with no other options go to the Nation and get it together. I especially appreciate his appeal to eat right and nutriciously. I go to Black Muslim Bakeries when I want some healthy food. Their tofu burgers are especially good! I wish so many people would stop hating on the guy and dwelling on negative things he has said. Ultimately, the benefits of his presence outweigh the costs IMO. And I don't like it when he hates on others, but I was always taught that the way to elevate our race was to have folks working FROM ALL PERSPECTIVES; that is Black Muslims, Black Demoncats , Black Repubs, Black Independents and the like. The millions more march was significant and it was a call to action. It would have been nice to see more Black leaders, because it was an inclusive, ecumenical gathering.

DL: You often speak of love and God and Christianity. I don't see it in this post, which is disappointing. You could argue against some of his other ideology to strengthen your obvious case of annoyance. But instead, you have called him a race baiter, pretty much. Now, can you honestly tell me that he, Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton have contributed NOTHING to the Black world? I don't believe that to be a fair assertion, and I don't particularly care for their bravado and self aggrandizement. But Ihave to be honest and admit that there is a place for them and there WAS a place for them. We simply need new infusions of energy!

And I don't think his intent is suspicious, whilst his methods are...

Yeah, I especially like excusing Farrakhan's complicity in the assassination of Malcolm X. I also enjoy glossing over his public coddling of Mike Tyson after he raped that girl. Calling Hitler a "great man" was cool, too. He's awesome!

You don't know what Mike Tyson did; only he, God and the girl know what happened. You also don't know if Farrakhan was complicit in killing Malcolm X either. Everything you have said is based on suppositions and tenuous footing at best. Notice how you are not focusing on the good that Farrakhan has done; you are guilty of myopia. Hitler was a eugenicist and committed genocide. I don't think Farrakhan has anyone in worker camps so your comment is ridiculous and indicative of haters.

Funny, Louis himself said that he "helped create the atmosphere" that led to Malcolm's assassination. Whether or not he actually participated in the planning (which is certainly a subject of conjecture) is another issue. But his inflammatory statements encouraging violence against Malcolm ("such a man is worthy of death", etc.) make him - by his own words - complicit.

You don't know what Mike Tyson did; only he, God and the girl know what happened.
Well, the man was convicted, so that's a bit of evidence that I have to go on ... and whether or not it happened, Farrakhan went out and publicly ridiculed the girl (there's plenty of footage in one of the Tyson documentaries of Farrakhan making all sorts of humiliating comments toward her to a large crowd - I'll see if I can find a link).

Hitler was a eugenicist and committed genocide. I don't think Farrakhan has anyone in worker camps so your comment is ridiculous and indicative of haters.

"The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man"
- Louis Farrakhan, 1994

So, as you can see, those are HIS words, not mine. Maybe you should do a little research first before you lash out like that.

Notice how you are not focusing on the good that Farrakhan has done; you are guilty of myopia.

You say potato, and I say you're excusing the bad stuff because you SO WANT his "good work" to be a positive for the community. Sorry, but the bath water poisoned this baby a long time ago. Stop excusing his horrid flaws just because you have such a dearth of other folks to hang your hat on.

Oh, and calling someone "hater" ... yeah, the world breaks down into neat little labels like that. Good luck with that world view.

I have seen all of these quotes before. And as I said before with Mike Tyson a conviction doesn't equal guilt this is true for all situations. when it comes to sex crimes only the victim, perpetrator and God know who is guilty. Yes, his backlash and Hitler statement was wrong, and I already said he has said antisemetic stuff. It still doesn't take away the good things that he has done. I think you are focusing on the bad to the exclusion of the good. In my first post, I already acknowledged that he has made mistakes, as have we all. Nevertheless, I still say you are a hater because you negate all of the positive affect that he has had. I challenged you to show how he has negatively affected those young men out of prison that get it together with some self respect. You can not just look at the bad in people, otherwise your logic would usurp the good that MLK did too, because he was a proven womanizer. We all have flaws but it doesn't mean that we don't do good. My points still stand hater.

And just because he made the Hitlter comment doesn't mean he has concentration camps like Hitler did. That comparison is undfounded. Also from what I understand, he has stopped a lot of the antisemetic talk and evolved, at least that is what I read.

That's all well and good, but...

I didn't make that comparison!

YOU brought that up out of nowhere!

Are you insane?

That is how Hitler got brought up in the first place.
That is really all. I know we will disagree on this issue. I just don't think those are warrented comparisons, whether made by him or you via the quote. That is really it:)

Okay, you're insane. And that little dismissive "I know we'll disagree, here's a smiley *tee-hee*" is the mark of someone who can't admit when they've been caught. You remind me of a third grade child who grins when they get chided by their teacher. Here's how the conversation went:

VESTI: "Farrakhan made this statement about Hitler"

YOU: "It's not a fair comparison. He didn't run any death camps."

VESTI: "What comparison? I just quoted what he said."

YOU: "Nope, you brought up the death camps. Well, we just disagree - tee hee!"

If this is how you converse with your spouse ("Happy Anniversary"), I wouldn't expect your marriage to last very long. Get a clue.

:kiss kiss:

tee hee!

No, you brought up Hitler I am not wrong at all and what a low blow to insult my marriage. Screw you and tee hee to that. Isimply was extending an olive branch because I don't want to discuss something with no turnaround. You are a jerk for bringing my personal affairs into this and can go to hell as far as I am concerned. If you can't stand by what you say, that is on you and you alone. You obviously must be a hate filled soul if you have to insult someones relationships. Ah bug off! It shows how stupid you really are because you have to resort to insulting my family. I haven't insulted you or your family; I simply disagree with your take on Farrakhan. That will not change. You don't garner respect in a disagreement by resorting to low insults. So this is ended and I hope you rot in an abyss of negative emotion and hell!

Oops, I forgot to mention your cowardice! Yes, you are a cowardly straight up fool! You can toss insults out but not show your cowardly face or even link to your site. What, you can't take the criticisms that you so blatantly dole out? Go to hell and stay there please!

Rad, I contacted DL about this via e-mail. He didn't respond. But thanks for pointing that out. He is also impersonating Vesti. (Not that it's terribly difficult to differentiate between the two.) I may disagree with DL on just about everything, but I'd never stoop to the level of this moron.

DL,
I’d appreciate it if you could remove the offensive comment above that has my name attached to it. This individual is seriously disturbed. I’ll deal with him next week. Just delete anything, and I do mean anything that comes from this spoofing clown. I’m sorry you got dragged into this sick person’s malicious behaviour.

Mahndisa,
could you give some examples of me "often" talking about "love of God and Christianity" on this blog. Are you saying that as a Christian, I cant call a spade a spade? To my best recollection I have said this blog is not a religious or religion blog, although I am a Christian and have a Biblical worldview. Its really arrogant to suggest that Christians should only talk about Christianity and then only talk about world/social events from your understanding of Christianity. To me thats like racist whites telling black people to stay in the ghetto. My place and my perspective is crafted from my own will, not one forced on me by society. Maybe that's why you are dissapointed.

DL: Thx for responding. As ever you hold to your position and don't result to violent nonsense. Even though I disagree with you about Farrakhan, I still respect you. I am so annoyed that this troll took over your blog. He summarily posted hate speech about me and the comments are enough to give a person a heart attack. D.L. I hope you deal with this person and I am sorry for engaging in bickering on your blog. And no, I am not trying to tell you how to think; it is just that coming up in East Oakland, CA the Nation was responsible for many brothers getting themselves together and NOT going back to jail. And yes DL I know that he said bad things too. Take Care and I will visit sooner, but Ihonestly hope this troll thing is addressed. These people are pushing away visitors that would benefit from your musings:)

Farrakhan is a nut and an extreme bigot. There is nothing good about him, nothing. Anyone espousing his white and Jew hating views is trouble, in or out of jail.
